Southern Spoon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 2 cups very warm water
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 cups self-rising flour

Instructions

Dissolve yeast in water in a small bowl.

In a large bowl, cream sugar with butter.

Add egg and yeast mixture.

Stir in flour until well mixed.

Place dough in air tight mixture filling not more than 2/3 full.

Refrigerate one or two hours before baking.

To bake, drop by tablespoons into well greased muffin tin. Mixture will seem somewhat thin.

Bake at 325(F) for 20 min.

Muffins will be done before they turn brown.
