Scandinavian Red Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 medium red cabbage - Shredded
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 or 3 apples peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • red currant or any red jelly - 2 tbsp.

Instructions

Put all in a pot & cook slowly for about 1-1/2 hours.

Add a chunk of butter near end of cooking time &
a little water if necessary.

Flavor improves by next day.
( good with fowl )

Surplus ( if any ) can be frozen for later use.
