Sausage Pie
Ingredients
- 1 24oz pkg. shredded hash browns (thawed)
- 1/3 C margarine or butter - melted
- 3 eggs beaten
- 1 C small curd cottage cheese
- 4 slices american cheese broken into pieces.
- green chilies (optional)
Instructions
1 24oz pkg. shredded hash browns (thawed)
1/3 C margarine or butter - melted
Melt butter and mix with hashbrowns. Bake at 400 in greased 10" deepdish pie pan for 25 min. While baking
Brown sausage with 1/2 C chopped onion. Drain.
Stir in:
3 eggs beaten
1 C small curd cottage cheese
4 slices american cheese broken into pieces.
After crust has baked, reduce heat to 350, add sausage mixture and back 30-35 min. more. MUST let stand at least 5 min. to setup.
This is so easy, the night before just bake the crust and set aside. Combine the sausage mixture and put in fridg. In the morning I bring things to near room temp. , combine and bake at 350.
