Sandy's Homemade Yeast Rolls

Dissolve yeast in water. stir. add surgar, salt & 1/2 flour. Bet thoroughly 2 minutes. Add egg & shortning. Gradually beat in remaining flour until smooth. Cover with damp cloth; place in refrigerator. About 2 hrs before baking cut off amount needed & return remaining dough to refrigerator. Shape into rools and place on greased baking sheet. Cover with damp towel. Let rise until light (1 1/2-2 hrs) Heat oven to 400.(moderate) Bake 12-15 minutes. Makes aprox 4 dozen medium rolls.
