Pan-Fried Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 Tbl olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed

Instructions

Melt butter in skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in the olive oil, salt and pepper. Cook garlic in butter for 1 minute but do not brown. Add asparagus and cook 5 to 10 minutes or until crisp-tender, turning asparagus to ensure even cooking.

2 servings

Note: If using bottled minced garlic, add at the end because it burns if you add to early.
