Oyster Dressing
Ingredients
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 2 (10-oz.) containers raw oysters, drain and reserve the oyster water
- 1-1/2 tsps. poultry seasoning
- Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
- Salt and pepper
- 1 loaf of day-old French Bread, cut into cubes
- 1 lb. ground beef sirloin
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a pan. Add onions, celery, garlic and parsley. Sauté 5 minutes.
2. Add oysters, poultry seasoning, Tony’s and salt and pepper to taste and cook 2 to 5 minutes.
3. Place French bread cubes in reserved oyster water in a bowl. Remove bread and squeeze the juice out. Add bread to oyster and vegetable mixture.
4. In a separate pan, brown ground sirloin and drain grease. Add to oyster and bread mixture.
5. Place in a 9x12-inch greased glass casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.
