Oktoberfest Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 can sauerkraut , drained
- 1/4 cup Thousand Island dressing
- 1 lb. smoked sausage
- 8 - 10 rye crisp crackers, crumbled
- 2 T butter, melted
- 2 - 3 tomatoes, sliced
- 3 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1/4 t. caraway seed
Instructions
Spread sauerkraut in the bottom of casserole. Top with sliced tomatoes. Dot with dressing. Cover with 2 -3 inch sausage pieces split lengthwise to lie flat. Top with cheese. Mix cracker crumbs, butter and caraway seed. Sprinkle on top of casserole. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes.
