Hungarian Veal Cutlets

Ingredients

  • 1 veal steak (1 1/2 inches thick)
  • sifted bread crumbs
  • 1 egg slightly beaten with 1 tsp water
  • 1 clove garlic, cut in half
  • shortening for frying
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

Cut veal in pieces, dip in crumbs and then in beaten egg and again in bread crumbs. Rub frying pan with garlic. Heat pan very hot, add shortening and brown veal quickly on both sides. Reduce heat and add paprika. Cover veal with milk. Cover tightly. Bake at 325(F) about 1 1/2 hours. During last 15 minutes remove cover to brown veal. Add sour cream. Blend well.
