Honey Drop Cookies for Valentines Party (1950)

Blend shortening and honey. Stir in eggs and sour cream. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt; stir into first mixture.
Stir in nutmeats, dates, flavoring and rice cereal. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake in moderate oven (375F) for about 20 minutes.
Yields: 2 dozen cookies, 4 inches in diameter

Note:
Sour cream and honey give these cookies a special tenderness. Nuts, dates and rice cereal give them a pleasing flavor and texture the youngsters will love:)
