Everyday Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cake yeast (or if using envelop of dry yeast, check cake equivalent)
- 1-1/2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
* Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
* Dissolve yeast in warm water.
* Melt butter in milk.
* Add sugar to milk, mix and allow to cool to lukewarm.
Beat 2 eggs with 1 teaspoon salt and add to warm milk and sugar ingredients.
Combine milk ingredients with yeast in large bowl.
Add flour and work well to create dough.
Set dough in a warm place and allow to rise to double in size. Punch down.
Spray or coat 2 bread loaf pans.
Separate dough into 2 equal parts and place into bread pans.
Use a towel to cover the pans and allow the dough to rise enough to emerge from the pans.
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes.
