Easy French Onion Soup

Gently cook the onion slices in the butter in a saucepan. When the onions are clear, add the flour and mix it with the onions and butter to form a roux. Let cook for about 1 minute, then add the bouillon cubes, hot water and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.

Melt some gruyre cheese onto sliced French bread in the broiler and place in the bottom of bowls. Spoon soup over the toast and bon appetit!

Serves two.

Note: Don't add salt to recipes in which you've used bouillon without tasting first.
