Bertha Merauda's Yeast Donuts

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 1/8 cup warm water (disolve yeast)
  • 3 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

Beat all until well mixed.
Chill 4 hours, roll out and cut. Let raise until double. Fry in veg oil.

Glaze 1/2 pound powdered sugar mixed with water
