Cover a bread board or an oven plank with a piece of waxed or white paper. Make a meringue by beating the gg whites until stiff, gradually folding in three-fourths of confectioner's sugar. The meringue should be light and dry. Now lay the cake on the papered board and place the ice cream upon the cake; the cake should extend about 1/2 inch beyond the ice cream on all sides. Cover completely with heavy coating of meringue. Dust survace well with rest of powdered sugar and place in very hot oven (475-500-F)until delicately brown. Serve at once
